The Necessity of Adopting a Political Approach to the Teachings of Mahdism, Emphasizing the Requirements and Necessities

One of the least explored aspects of Mahdist teachings is its "political methodology." Mahdism interpretations have predominantly been ideological in nature for a long time; yet, concepts like condemnation of oppression, support for the oppressed, assurance of a better future, and the notion of justice within the context of a unified world government could be key to mobilizing the oppressed classes in various human societies. These issues transcend ideology; they refer to another aspect of Mahdism—its political perspective on man. These matters are explained in this research through descriptive-analytical methodology.
This study explores the three separate aspects: the prerequisites, dimensions, and fundamental elements of Mahdism in political terms. The significance of paying attention to the political dimension of Mahdism includes a focus on the envisioned Mahdist society, the revival of social life guided by Mahdist thought, the re-establishment of divine principles like social justice in the contemporary context, and planning the movement towards the desired Mahdist community. These aspects are significant contributions to the understanding of the political dimension of Mahdism in Islamic thought and the Ahl al-Bayt (Peace Be Upon Them) teachings.
