Among the Imamate Shiites, in spite of the fact that Muhammad ibn Ibrahim Nomani had several books, the book of Al-Ghaibah, attributed to him, has been noticed above all his other books. This book has been written at the beginning of the major occultation and following the extended absence of Imam of the Time (a.s), and the rise in intellectual confusion and shakiness of beliefs among the Shiites. According to the catalogers of Iranian manuscripts and also the list of manuscripts of Al-Ghaiba, the oldest available version of Al-Ghaiba by Nomani is the copy in the Astan Quds Razavi library. This old version of Al-Ghaiba is four centuries older than the other available versions. Therefore, it deems necessary to raise research and questions about it, such as: 1. What are the main and secondary bibliographic characteristics of the old version? 2. What are the table of contents and chapters of the old version and whether there are differences between this version with other printed versions of Al-Ghaiba? 3. To what region and geography does this ancient version belong? 4. Is there a great difference between the ancient version and the latest manuscripts of Al-Ghaiba? In the present paper, in addition to the detailed bibliographic description of the version, we have found that there are minor and major differences and discrepancies in the chapters of the book and between the ancient version and latest manuscripts and printed versions of Al-Ghaiba.
