There are accounts in hadith books that are related to the catastrophes and portents before the Resurrection or the end of the world. Among them is a set of accounts in which some Muslims are cursed by other Muslims, particularly under the discussion of catastrophes related to the end times, most specifically the Age of Occultation. The reports of mutual cursing are mostly documented by Sheikh Saduq and Sheikh Tusi in the Sunni hadith collections and the early Shiite sources. This study, employing a descriptive-analytical approach, asserts that the aforementioned narratives are instruments of Sunni groups, that is, the takfir movement. This is not achieved by an academic interpretation of the sources of the hadiths in Sunni or Shi'ite traditions but by the interpretation of their content to criticize Shiites as representations of those who offend Muslims at the end of the world or at the Age of Occultation. This is particularly founded on the belief that not all companions are deemed just, which has repercussions such as cursing acts. All of the chains and paths of these reports are weak according to the Shiite criteria of rijal, and some of these reports are weak based on the presumptions of Sunni rijal as well. The claims also recognize the views of the Nawasib, whose characteristic is opposition to the Ahl al-Bayt, and the followers of the Umayyad caliphate and Sufyani movement. These opinions are irreconcilable with the true teachings of Imamiyyah, which considers disavowal a constituent of religious practice and belief in Imamate and Wilayah.
