"Typology of indication" within mahdivist narratives is among the foundations for inferring doctrinal teachings. Imami theologians categorize texts into two distinc – "clear" (jalī) and "obscure" (khafī) – while considering the “actual text” (fi’li). However, there exists a further category that has yet to be recognized as an independent classification; this research designates such a category as the
"compound text" (naṣṣ murakkab). This article endevears to present the theory of the compound text as novel classification, employing a descriptive-analytical methodology. The primary inquiry of the article is: how does the combination of the practical actions Alongside the utterance of the infallible (Imam) within a singular narration create a robust and irrefutable network of signification that, in terms of strength, exceeds the power of each element when considered separately? The narration Attributed to Aḥmad ibn Isḥāq al-Ashʿarī from Imam Ḥasan al-ʿAskarī (peace be upon him) Exemplifies this argument and serves as the focal point for analysis. The results indicate that the compound text, through the interplay of actions, speech, and both situational and verbal indicators, generates theological certainty at at an optimal , thereby precluding any contradictory interpretations or hermeneutical misdirection. his proposed theory contends that the composite text, recognized as a novel and independent type, can provide a methodological model for analyzing identity-related narrations in the field of Mahdism. The conclusions drawn reveal that the narration of Aḥmad ibn Isḥāq emboddies a multi-layered signification system that, by merging actions with speech, proves the specific Imamate in an objective and definitive manner. Furthermore,This theory also proves its efficacy in analyzing significant events such as the event of Ghadīr Khumm.
